What we're doin today....

Today is a cold cold day. I've decided we are not going to do much but hang out inside. This is
very hard for me to do. We are usually out the door ready to go by 9:00... to the park, store, library, neighbors or running around town. But today it's 12:34 and i'm still in my pajamas. Brookelyn has changed her clothes a few times..... you will see. It's going to be a good day, just mom and brookelyn tearin it up around the house. Enjoy a day in the life of Brookelyn!

It starts out like this. . . . .
When i get home from work at 8am. I put on my sleeping mask, put in my blue earplugs and hit the sack. Brookelyn came out of our room looking like this. It made us laugh so hard! Kids learn by what they see, not what you tell them to do. (Adam learned this in his ASU class this week).

We made some chocolate chip muffins (brookelyn's favorite). Adam downed 5!!! We juggled lemons... well I did. I was trying to impress adam with my juggling skills- it worked. Adam was not so good. Brookelyn just started throwing lemons all around the house juggling like mom. :)
Then we started playing catch with the lemons. Adam's been teaching brookelyn how to play catch. She's getting pretty good. BUT... we've been finding out brookelyn has been throwing everything. Like the other day she was throwing stuff at her friend in the face.. our neighbor didnt' understand she was playing catch.

Well dad had to go to work. Brookelyn and I went upstairs to read books. One of her favorite things! Fanny's dream... it's a classic. Oh this is her 1st outfit of the day. Princess Belle's dress.

I think she is trying to tell us something. She carries her baby around with her everywhere. Today she stole the baby from the nursery..... ooops We didn't know till we got home! She is the biggest help with little babies and is just so preoccupied by them... Good thing she has fun neighbors and cousins ; )

I know, I'm a terrible blogger! But I was going through some pics today and thought I'd post a few. Brookelyn is getting SO big, and thinks she can get her way with everything! Going to the store and restuarant with her is almost impossible, unless I want to make a scene. (It's so embarrassing) But we get through. She is also learning to go potty and poop in her toilet!! I'm so proud of her! She's doing a great job. She LOVES elmo! I think more than us. It's the first thing that comes out of her mouth when she wakes up, when we walk into the house, when we go down stairs. She runs to the couch, plops her little bum on the couch and points to the tv and says "elmo".... cute huh?

Well, I started a new job at chandler regional medical center, I really like it, i start night shifts next week..... check back with me in a month to see if i still like it!! ha ha. Well, that's it :) dont' expect another blog post for a while.

Yes, we are alive and still livin!! Infact we're livin life well!!! Here are some pics of what has been going on in the ellsworths life.....

We went to mexico for a day during spring break.... wish we could of stayed longer, but it was fun! Brookelyn loved the sand and beach and pool... all of it!
We called her "skid" for a week or so... poor girl! funny story behind it though! Of course, dad was the one watching her when it happened. She thought it would be fun to ride her princess car down our steep walk way on her own. She's pretty brave.

This little girl know's how to throw a fit! But she is so cute and adorable when she does it.

It's a hard life! I know!

And this should actually be at the top... cause we moved the middle of january. But it finally happened.... We became home owners! It's a wonderful thing. We have fixed it up so much, it's come along way and we love it!

Brookelyn sure loved to open gifts this year! Christmas Eve we stayed at Adam's mom's and brookelyn woke up at 3:00am and would not go back to bed, she must of known santa was coming!!! She's crazy!

Sledding with Emma and Elias at Grandma Wilcock's. Brookelyn loved this so much, but she wouldn't sit up, she layed on Elias and he just kept getting so mad at her. It was so funny! She threw such a fit when we took her off the sled!
Pooped out! The back of my car was filled with all of brookelyn's toys, all our bags and other stuff had to fit up front. Thanks grandmas and grandpas for all her wonderful fun fun gifts!

Dodge Ball Tourney!!! This was awesome, I didn't know they did stuff like this! Just remember the five D's Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge. ;)

We have a little "Walkie Talky" around our house now! Nurses refer to patients on the floor as "walkie talkies" when they are indepedent and can walk for them selves. She's such a big girl. This video was actually done a week ago, she's walking much better now!

It all started out like this.... carving pumpkins with our neighbors, the Jones's

Then, making cookies with emma and elias!! HMMM

A fun sleep over party, while their mommy and daddy was “going to pick up their new baby sister LaRynne at the hospital” as Emma says. Congrats jesse and esther!!

Saturday day morning we did the JDRF walk for diabetes for Becca. Adam and I had fun running it together.

Finally, we ended with a spooky Halloween night! I have to talk about adam, and brag, cause if you can’t tell by the picture, he was “the money you could be saving with Geico”. He has speakers in his pockets that played the geico theme song “it always feels like somebody’s watching me……” He never dresses up, so this was a huge deal and it was hilarious!!!

Brookelyn was the cutest this little witchy witch you’d ever seen, the only way she would keep her witch hat on was if she had a sucker in her mouth.  She loved them!

BECCA’S HOPE

This is my beautiful sister-in-law Becca! (and Brookelyn. I think they look a lot alike.)

Becca has type 1 diabetes, it's an everyday life struggle, but to her just a lifestyle now.

But a hard life! And she is so brave and strong!

I admire Becca! I love Becca.

In the middle of the night, her mom wakes up several times and pricks becca's arm to test her blood sugar,

A lot of sleepless nights on Debby's part!

Throughout the whole day Becca pricks her arm again, drops a drop of blood on a strip and waits for the blood sugar results…

What can I eat today that won't make my blood sugar too high or too low?

If you're ever around becca you will hear from her mom….

Before breakfast….. Becca did you test?

Before lunch…. Becca did you test?

Before dinner…Becca did you test?

And always in between meals making sure her blood sugar isn't too high or too low.

Becca's been in the hospital one too many times fromUps and downs of diabetes.

Not a life for such a beautiful young women.

Diabetes never goes away, and very unpredictable, It's impossilbe to live a "normal" life with diabetes.

But if anyone can do it with a smile on her face, she can! But so much is being done now in the fight to diabetes,

Woah! Made it to the top! It was a fun hike. Some girls in our stake run it every saturday morning, we were going to get up really early and go with them, but i'm glad we didn't! There's no way we could of run all the way!

This girl was so thirsty when we got to the caves... she worked out so hard sittin on the back of dad's shoulders. :) hmmmm apple juice

Brookelyn is starting to crawl!!! She has crawled a bit here and there... she's not cruisin yet, but when she sees something she wants, she gets it! She is always pulling her self up on stuff....couches, chairs, desks, me, everything! I can't even imagine the trouble this little girl is going to be getting into pretty soon.
I LOVE her!

UTAH trip

Well Brookelyn and I were gone for 5 NIGHTS, we went to utah to visit my brother and sister. But adam couldn't come. We had fun, but I think we missed adam more than we had fun. I've decided I'm never going on a trip again without him. We visited the BYU campus where Jenn goes to school and hiked to a few falls, went to oquirrh temple open house, hung out with famliy and had a good time. I didn't bring a baby carrier or anything for the hikes, so I took turns carrying brookelyn up and down the trails with my sister and brother jason. She sure is heavy, especially when your hiking up hill.

Esther and I went to Tempe Beach Park with the Kiddo's.

Then we talked Esther into letting us take Emma home with us to stay the night. We painted our nails and toes, watched movies, went swimming. It was so much fun. Emma would make Brookelyn laugh so much! Emma's the best company!

This was so funny, she was being so so crabby and wouldn't go down for her morning nap, and in a matter of seconds she was knocked out but sitting straight up with her head hanging. Adam pulled her over to him so she could lay on him. It was only like a 10 min power nap.

We had a good fourth of July up in showlow. Some highlights were fireworks at Debby's (go to Debby and Joe's blog to see brookelyn on a zipline, practicing archery for the hunt, and parading, and repeling. My dad recently became a certified repelling instructor. So he took us up near snowflake, it was actually quite the challenge, as we had to climb up as far as we could and then repel down, it was so much fun. and of course....
Adam made it to the top!

However, I did not. Infact, I got showed up by my sister in law, who is 5 months along! Way to go Esther!!!

I think adam just thinks of ways to make brookelyn look silly and tease her. I guess at this age, she doesn't care, she actually thinks its funny too.

Brookelyn sure loves her daddy, she tries so much to be like him. She lights up when her daddy comes home. I can't even feed her when Adam is around cause she just gets so excited and wants to play with him. He already makes forts with brookelyn out of her crib. They have lots of fun together.

NCLEX RN

I know I posted a few weeks ago I graduated from the nursing program. But that didn't mean i was a nurse. I had to take the State Board Exam called the NCLEX. I took it last Thursday. I've never studied for something so hard in my life and I've never spent so much money on a test- $900 bucks for it all (that included a prep class). Friday, we got up at 3:00am to leave to California, so I couldn't check that morning on the computer if I passed. And I didn't want to look at the house we were staying at in california with adams family, cause I wouldn't have the guts to tell them if i failed. So i texted my friend Rachael who was in the program with me while we were driving still. I told her to look for me and if I didn't pass, don't text me back, I don't want to hear it. One minute later she texted me back "You're and RN". I couldn't believe it. I read that text message over and over! It's such a great feeling and accomplishment. I found a job at MGA healthcare doing Respite care for children. I don't have a family yet, but hopefully i will this week, I'm so excited to start working a few hours a week.

Sea World

Saturday we went to Sea World with Alan and Shelly. We didn't think to bring Brookelyn's stroller, so we went to target real fast and I picked up this PINK one! Adam never lets me get "girl" stuff, like stroller, car seat and others, so that way we can use them when we have a boy. But i'm all for the girly girl stuff. So while he was waiting in the car, I was able to pick this stroller out my self!

I've never been to sea world, I was a first timer, along with Shelly. I couldn't believe this. Shamu is amazing!

We went on a few rides, and it was pretty chilly there in california and we didn't really feel like getting wet. But we had to experience it all, so we did it anyways. There were 7 people in the little boat ride and Adam and I were the only ones to get soaked, the other kids were so sad, they only got a few drops. It was lots of fun though!

Lee and Mattie got married on Friday, the 19th on a beach in Carlsbad, CA. It was a beautiful night. And Mattie looked gorgeous! It was so much fun.

A nice little story to end the wedding to.... It's time to go back to the house to the reception. I put Brookelyn in her car seat, not buckled in yet. Adam goes to grab the handle that isn't locked in it's place and as he grabs the handle he lifts up and brookelyn goes face plant into the sand!!! I screamed "Adam!!" and everyone looked over, it looked like he dropped her from standing. It really wasn't as bad as it sounded, I was just freaked out. Without even crying, Adam picks her up and this is what she looked liked.... (click on it to get a good close up)

I can't believe my little girl is 6 MONTHS! It's so unreal. She is so much fun and such a joy to be around. She is sitting up on her own really well and will eat anything I give her!
She is 18 lbs 1 oz and 25" long

She doesn't like....
being ignored,
being hungry,
when momma studies,

the sun in her eyes,

when someone cries.

I love coming home from school or wherever I am and adam is watching Brookelyn. He's always got some funny, cute or crazy pictures. They have so much fun together. I'm sure she wishes daddy would stay home with her all the time, as I have to study alot.

On Monday, just as we have done for years, we went branding at Grandpa Smiths. Adam and Jesse were in charge of getting the calf in the branding thing and the rule is... "if you let a calf go, you have to rope it yourself and brand it". But luckily Jesse and Adam did so good they didn't have to. :) Adam also practiced shooting his bow on Tuesday while we were still in the mountains to get ready for his hunt later this fall... and now we're back home. It was such a good weekend. And we don't know why we live here in the terrible heat!

Grandma Shelly bought Brookelyn some adorable clothes for her!! We couldn't wait to put them on, they were all 9-12 months, but she filled them out! :) Thanks Shelly!

Sunday we went to Alan and Shelly's and ate the biggest best steaks ever! And the best part of it, we got to see Ryker. He's so big and so good at basketball and hitting the ball with a bat!

Friday night we went camping with my family. My dad is the best cook in the world! We always enjoy his dutch oven cooking, Like his sausage, egg, hashbrown breakfast and his famous bbq ribs and beans and cobbler!

Brookelyns first time playin at the park, I think Adam enjoyed this more than Brookelyn. :)

Nursing Graduate!

Well I did it!!!! I was interested in nursing when I was in high school. I think I actually got the idea from my sister Jenn, who always said she wanted to be a nurse and as sisters do they want to be like each other, so I wanted to be a nurse too. So Thanks Jenn for getting me started on this in the first place. As a junior in high school I took college pre-requisites for the field of healthcare and became a CNA my senior year in high school. I finally was able to apply for the nursing program shortly after I moved here to the valley and then the waiting game began. I almost waited 2 YEARS to get into the nursing program. I was about to give up and was looking into other careers, but I finally received my letter of acceptance. I chose to do the accelerated program of 16 months instead of 2 years. The first block I cried so much, failed a few tests and didn't want to be a nurse anymore, but Adam and my family got me through it. I slowly continued to do better in school and started enjoying it and actually wanted to be a nurse over half way into the program. Between third and fourth block at the perfect timing, right before christmas break, Brookelyn was born. Nursing school is hard enough, but having a baby during it and then returning to finish is just unheard of... ha ha. But I did it and it was great, I wouldn't change a thing! It was for sure the hardest thing i've ever done, but i'm so much stronger and such a better person for it. Thank you Adam, mom and Debby for letting me cry and vent to you and giving me words of encouragment and to never give up.

I've been so bored not having school and clinicals anymore, so Brookelyn and go swimming pretty much every day now :) I finally got her a little turtle floaty. She loves it!

Lee and Mattie came and stayed with us for a bit before they moved to California. They helped watch Brookelyn while I finished up the last days of school. Thanks guys, We love you and can't wait for the wedding!

So Saturday after work Adam wanted to go on a bike ride, and it was such a nice day and the last time i had gone on one with him was 6 weeks after i had brookelyn and it was very uncomfortable. So he took me to Canyon Lake, it was such a nice ride and it was so beautiful there. He then pulls out my wedding ring (i took it off that morning to lotion brookelyn) and he took it and there was an anniversary band also with my ring! I was so suprised, I felt like i had just been proposed to again. Our anniversary is next tuesday, but he has work and i have school. And he can never pull anything by me, I always end up finding out or i know whats coming, but he truly suprised me this time.

Adam went horn hunting with his buddy Carl. They actually had some pretty good success. He just found out that he got a tag for archery elk for this fall. He's SO excited and I am too. I've never been hunting and i'm determined to go this year and try it for myself.

My family went camping at lost dutchmans state park, we didn't end up staying the night, but we did enjoy a good dutch-oven dinner!

Adam went hunting with his dad, jake and michael. I miss Adam when he's gone hunting, but he loves it so much- he can't wait to take Brookelyn hunting one day.

Curtis reported to the MTC in utah yesterday. He has been called to serve a mission in Madrid, Spain. Curtis lived with us last semester in Tempe so he could knock out one semester before his mission. We loved having him live with us. He's a great young man and will be an awesome missionary!

Brookelyn Cali Ellsworth was born on Sunday, December 7th at 11:38 pm. She was 7lbs 13oz and 20.5inches long. It was a long hard labor but all worth it! She's a beautiful little baby doll, and we love her so much! It's so fun being a mommy!
